ZUGSPITZ MOUNTAIN RUN
Short and sweet – that is how you could describe the Zugspitz UPHILL on the Zugspitze. With 15,8 kilometers running distance, an elevation gain of 2127 m and a winner’s time of just under two hours, the Uphill from Ehrwald via the Gatterl, the Knorrhütte and the Zugspitzplatt until the summit of the Zugspitze belongs to the thoughest and most extreme Uphill in the Alps. The route is not flat except the first kilometers right after the start and in several short parts at the Ehrwald alpine pasture and shortly before the Knorrhütte, but there is a constant steep uphill path. Alpine experience and surefoodetness are required for the last 400 elevation gain, because the climb from the flat to the summit is technically challenging and exposed. The SCOTT Rock the Top Uphill to the Zugspitze is a run for technically and alpine experienced uphill runners.
The HALF MARATHON with 2o,9 km and 1035 meters of ascent and descent refers to all experienced runners, who want to venture the start into the alpine trailrunning. The half-marathon course from Ehrwald takes in a beautiful waterfall with views of the Wetterstein Mountains and continues all the way to the Seebenwasserfall before returning through a pretty larch forest.
The short distance with 10,3 km and 495 meters of ascent and descent is the perfect beginners track to be part of the SCOTT ROCK THE TOP – Zugspitz Trailrun Challenge for the first time and to soak up the great atmosphere of such an unique trailrunning event.
