Germany’s highest and toughest Marathon!

The trailrun weekend around and on top of the Zugpspitze!

The SCOTT ROCK THE TOP- Zugspitz Trailrun Challenge is a highlight of any season. With spectacular views and a finish line on Germany’s highest mountain at almost 3000 metres above sea level, the event is made up of both a marathon and a trailrun as well as several shorter distances. As in previous years, the mountain run and marathon will start in Ehrwald. The mountainrun is 15,8 km long, climbs 2127 vertical metres and leads more or less directly from Ehrwald to the summit of the Zugspitze. The marathon covers 43.5 km and 3965 vertical metres of ascent, also finishing atop the Zugspitze. The fourth edition will take place on 22-23 July 2017 with a new format. The start and finish line of the short run and the half-marathon will be on Sunday in Ehrwald and runners can expect new courses for both distances. New for 2017 is a “double classification”, where runners compete in both the marathon and the half-marathon.

“SCOTT ROCK THE TOP – Zugspitz Trailrun Challenge – that equates to breath-taking, spectacular borderline adventure on varied trails that will exact all from participating athletes. Beginners won’t be short-changed though as the Kids Race, the AOK City Lauf and the lively Pasta Party promise lots of fun for anyone not wanting to go the whole distance. We welcome all trail-running enthusiasts and hope that all enjoy the upbeat festival spirit and will come away from the Zugspitz Arena Bavaria-Tyrol in one piece and with many memorable sights and experiences in their hearts“.
